Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ While participating in the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, the President Ts.Elbegdorj has received a certificate on registering the Great Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and its surrounding sacred landscape in the World Heritage List.
The Director-General of the UNESCO Ms Irina Bokova gave Monday the certificate to the President. After this, the two dignitaries shared views on the Mongolia-UNESCO cooperation. The President congratulated Ms Bokova on the 70th anniversary of the UNESCO establishment and expressed a satisfaction with the ties and cooperation with the UNESCO.
He also highly spoke big contributions of the UNESCO to social-economic development of Mongolia and to delivering the ideology on providing modern education, scientific knowledge, to abolishing illiteracy, to saving the national art and cultural heritage, to introducing technical and technological achievements, and to strengthening human rights and freedom.
The President proposed collaborating with 27 countries that have pieces registered in the World Heritage List in saving cave paintings, co-organizing international forums, registering method of pasture animal husbandry in a list of intangible heritage, and running international conferences on saving pasture animal husbandry.
The sides concurred to realize the proposals.
